1. ✦ MOVEMENT has sourced bamboo textiles that are strong, long lasting and dyed using Reactive Dyes, (commonly known as “Low Impact Dyes”). This class of dyes are an improvement over conventional dyes as they are more efficiently absorbed into natural (cellulosic) fibres resulting in less polluting run-off but still providing high quality dying that retain their vivid colours even after repeated washings.
   

1. ✦ MOVEMENT bamboo textiles have been sourced for the outstanding quality of the fabric and the good business practices of the mills that spin the yarn (all holding International certification ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Oeko-Tex Standard 100).  We live in a world where products are made using cheap materials and labour and are “throw away”. 1. ✦ In contrast to renewable bamboo, synthetic textiles like acrylic and polyester are made from petroleum (a non-renewable source) and contain many chemicals (eg. fire retardants) that let off harmful toxins as new clothing and when they become waste. Unlike synthetic fabrics, bamboo cloth is 100% biodegradable.

How to care for your MOVEMENT bamboo clothing

Bamboo fabric is very strong, it has a silky feel but you can wash and dry it like cotton. It will even last longer than cotton. So while bamboo doesn’t need special care (eg. dry cleaning/ hand washing), for the long term enjoyment of your clothing we suggest that you machine wash in COLD water (regular or delicate cycle) and hang to dry. Bamboo has natural anti-microbial qualities so the fabric does not need warm or hot washing. Cold water washing and hanging to dry is also better for the environment and your wallet by using less energy resources and being gentler on your clothing. If you are in a hurry you can always put your bamboo in the dryer on a warm cycle with no worries.
